16 Launcher Integration

Content outdated

We are in the process of migrating all content to impulse version 2.0.

An eclipse launch configuration is a description of how to launch a program. The program itself may be a Java program, another Eclipse instance in the form of a runtime workbench, a C program, or something else. The impulse launch integration enables users to bind an impulse port to a launch configuration.

The port will be opened in an impulse viewer (if its not already open) when the launch is started. Depending on the mode settings, this might be in debug or run-mode only, or always.

Configuration

  • Port: Select the port you want to bind.
  • Mode: Select if the port shall be used always, in debug mode or in run mode only.

On Launch settings

  • Action: Select the action on launch. This can be "No action","Connect only" or "Start Streaming". The third option makes sense in most case.
  • Restart if already running:If set to true, the port will be restarted (stopped and started) when its already in running.
  • Delay: Enter a duration in milliseconds to delay the launch action (e.g if the application under test requires some time to setup the trace interface).
  • Activate impulse viewer: Brings the impulse viewer to front.

On Termination settings

  • Action: Select the action on launch. This can be "No action" or "Stop Streaming".
  • Activate impulse viewer: Brings the impulse viewer to front.
